Beyond language barriers!!!
April-June 2016

This project was born some months ago in order to approach a concrete professional figure: foreign language interpreters and translators.
Students from the 4th year specializing in foreign languages and socioeconomic subjects joined the course with great enthusiasm.

ABSTRACT
We worked on: Nawal Soufi’s speech on immigration, European Parliament, Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality 3rd March 2016; M. L. King’s speech, section “I have a dream”; Billie Holiday’s song Strange Fruit against racism in the U.S.; a role-play on Business English for Business Interpreting and a final Written Translation Project on tourist texts of some local tourism organisations.
We trained on summary techniques, sight translation, role-plays, oral speech techniques and written translation.
Here enclosed, you can find some materials of the course and two glossaries prepared by the students. Have a look and join the next course!!
